LESSON ELEVEN - “Ministry Involvement Survey”
INTRODUCTION
* The people in your class want more than anything to make their life count for something important – to do something that makes a difference. * What are some of this church’s top priorities? o Equipping and empowering the membership. o Developing new ministry leaders. o Increasing the number of prayer warriors. o Heightening the spiritual formation of our membership. o Evangelizing our world. Being “light” and “salt.” * We’ve got some “heavy lifting” that is going to be required here. The emphasis of this “Call to Service” series in only the start! * Story
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH THE INFORMATION RECEIVED FROM THIS SURVEY?
* The ministry staff will review. * The information will be entered into a church management computer database where it can be effectively utilized. * Specific list will be provided ministry leaders related to those who have volunteered to serve in their ministry area. The ministry staff will help to assure that ministry leaders are contacting and effectively integrating volunteers in their ministry area. * Ministry teams will be formed all across the landscape of this church. We need to connect people with the appropriate ministry area(s) that are right for them. We must recognize that for some, it takes five years to find the “bull’s eye.” That means we need to have a good system for the migration of volunteers from one ministry area to another.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADMINISTERING THE MINISTRY INVOLVEMENT SURVEY IN YOUR CLASS:
* Provide each class member with a survey and a pencil. * Be sure everyone completes the biographical information on page one. * We want everyone to complete this survey during the class period. * This survey is designed to allow each student to respond to specific ministry opportunities for which they would like to serve. For the purpose of this questionnaire, please encourage everyone to respond with a broad view toward all the ministry areas to which they would like to serve. Notice ministry opportunities are grouped according to the ministry clusters. * Please note the comments section on page 13. We want to encourage our people to describe any ministry area(s) not listed for which they have a passion and see a need to develop in our church. * It will probably take 30 minutes for most of your people to complete this survey. Please reserve that amount of class time for this purpose. * Once each student completes the survey, please have them return their survey to you. * As the teacher, you are responsible to return these surveys to Jeff Spry’s office where there will be a deposit box available.
