Jesus will be back!
• Prophets Predicted it (Dan 7:13-14; 12:1-3; Zech 14:3-9; Mal 4:1-3)
• Jesus Promised it (Matt 24:27-37; 25:1-10, 31-46; John 14:1-3) He will come as a thief in the night but it certainly won’t be a secret (Luke 12:40; I Cor. 5:5; I Thess. 4:16, 5:2,4; II Peter 3:10)
Christ will come quickly (Matthew 24:36-44).
I Thessalonians 4:13-18
• Jesus will come with a shout
• We’ll hear the voice of the archangel
• The trumpet will sound
• The dead in Christ will rise and we who are in Christ will join them in the air
II Peter 3:9-13
This day will be a day of judgment and wrath (Matt. 13:40-43; II Cor. 5:10-11; Rev. 20:11-15).

REFLECT
In light of the teachings of Christ in Luke 9:57-62, what things make it hard for us to look forward to Christ’s Coming?
How is it possible for us as sinful people to love Christ’s appearing and anxiously await it? What three insights can we get from reading Hebrews 9:23-28?
How should we live out our hope in these last days? Titus 2:10-14
Listen to the words from a verse of this contemporary song:
Come Quickly Lord
“Be ready is what I want to be
When You come for me
No sitting on my hands
I won’t be caught sleeping
And I long so much to see You
That I reach for the sky
And I lift up my hands
And I hold them high…high”
-Rebecca St. James and Daniel Smallbone
Do we share in these emotions?
