DIG
How does God enable us to “fall in love” with Him through the reading of His word? How does the reading the scripture pave the way for a deeper relationship with God?
Why is feeding on God’s Holy Word such a critical component that God uses to mature our faith?
From your perspective, is it true (like with all other relationships) that coming to know God is a “social act”? If so, why do you believe this to be true?
What would be the characteristics of God that you have learned from your study of scripture that are fundamental to your faith?
How has this knowledge brought about a “supernatural” life change that has enabled you to share your faith with your family, friends, and associates?
REFLECT
Can it be true that people can spend their lives in the church and never really develop a love relationship with God? What will be some of the evidences of having a faith that is more grounded in a “religious system” rather than a personal relationship with God?
Can you honestly say you have made developing your relationship with God the primary focus of your life?
Though a study of scripture is central to our coming to know God, how can we keep it from being just an academic exercise?
