“Every Life a Plan of God”

5 Minutes - Welcome / Prayer

5 Minutes - OPEN

Describe in your own words your perspective of how we as humans are “free, moral agents” making faith and life choices yet we also recognize that as believers that God has a pre-determined plan for us to follow?

How do you reconcile these two truths?

At this point in time, do you feel you are following God’s plan for your life? If not, in what ways do you feel like you’re off track?

15 Minutes - DIG

Why should God knowing each of us before we were born give us confidence that he has a plan for us?

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I set you apart” (Jeremiah 1:5).

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13).

How does God prepare us for use in his ultimate plan?

What truth did God declare to Ananias concerning Saul (Acts 9:11-15) that confirms he has a plan for our lives?

What lessons were learned from the experiences of Joseph (Genesis 50:19-21), David (Psalm 22:1-11), and Jesus (Mark 6:1-3) concerning preparation?

In what way are the following ingredients of our preparation critical for our becoming effective ambassadors for God?

   (   ) Having a Learner’s Heart

   (   ) Life Experiences

   (   ) Life Struggles

   (   ) Sufferings

   (   ) Other Ingredients: ______________________

What do we learn from Ephesians 4:11-12 about spiritual giftedness and our place in the kingdom?

15  Minutes - REFLECT

Are there any challenges you face that you worry you are not able to meet? What are they? And why are you worried about such?

What are some lessons you have learned or observations you have gleaned about God’s providence?

5 Minutes - CLOSING PRAYER

From this discussion, what are those things you feel compelled to pray about tonight?

Pray about these matters one by one and bring them before your Heavenly Father.
