Speaking on behalf of the elders on Sunday evening, January 10, Jimmy Cone announced that Hans Oliver had tendered his resignation as Singles Minister effective immediately (January 6).

In commending Hans’ leadership in the position, Jimmy stated that Hans had helped bring community service into the vocabulary of the congregation through the Singles. 

He reminded the assembly that ministry staffers, in pouring themselves into service to the church and community, can become emptied out, and need – like Moses – to have their arms held up while the battle continues.
