“Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things
will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.” ~ Isaiah 65:17
There are some who feel this quote from Isaiah indicates that we will not be able to recognize others – or even recall our own identities – in the resurrected earth. But the phrase “former things” – used only by this prophet – seems to refer to “past troubles” in the previous verse, not necessarily personalities. In fact, the God whom we will praise forever will wipe away tears of our sin and disgrace … which we would hardly have if we could not remember:
“… he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken.”
~ Isaiah 25:8

An Accounting From All Creatures |
“But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man.”
~ Genesis 9:4-5
As Noah disembarks on dry land, God gives him a warning; a commandment that is reinforced in the time of Moses (Leviticus 19:26 ) – not to eat meat with the lifeblood still in it. Yet it also counsels respect for the lives of the men and animals saved from the flood, and respect from the animals of human life as well. If God says He will demand an accounting for every life from man and animal, is it too much of a stretch to say that all creatures who praise His name (Revelation 5:13) will, in some way, be judged?
And shouldn't that praise begin now?
