The Praise of Every Creature |
10/12/2008 - It’s difficult to know how much/which parts of the Revelation are meant to be taken literally, but the poetic prophecy describes the fulfillment of the yearning expressed in Psalm 150:6 – “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!" The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped. ~ Revelation 5:13-14
When we gather to worship and anticipate such a comprehensive chorus, can we even imagine not participating with all our heart and voice?

Children of the Resurrection |
Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God's children, since they are children of the resurrection.”~Luke 20:34-6
Remember what Jesus said about children and praise, quoting and enriching Psalm 8:2?
"Do you hear what these children are saying?" they asked him.
"Yes," replied Jesus, "have you never read,
" 'From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise'?"~ Matthew 21:16
In our resurrected reality, praise to God will be the natural outpouring of innocent, wonder-filled hearts.
