Perhaps it is no wonder that women were first at the Cradle and the Cross. They had never known a man like this man -- there has never been such another -- who never made jokes about them, never treated them either as ‘The women, God help us’, or ‘The ladies, God bless them!’
~ Dorothy Sayers
Last week at PV, 160 women came together to learn more about the One who values women like no other. These women were from different cultures, churches and stages of life. Some were single, others were married, others were divorced, still others were widowed. Some have children, some do not. All came to turn their eyes upon Jesus and learn of him.
By now many of you have seen the notebook and posters featuring the lovely visage of Esther Pipkin, looking quite biblical in first-century Oriental garb. The study was written by Linda Smith, one of the most sought-after women’s speakers in the church today. Over thirty women have contributed to this series by sharing their artistic, vocal, writing and scholarly talents. It is truly a collaborative effort.
It is also an opportunity to experience first-hand many of the strengths of the church at its best, such as:
- Worship
Voices were lifted in praise and gratitude to the God and Father of our Savior, Jesus the Christ.
- Prayer
Hearts were attuned to the will of God as these women of God brought their petition before the Creator of the universe.
- Interaction
Experiences were shared across generational lines and life situations as lessons were imparted and encouragement given.
Your life will be blessed by joining these women.
There are three different times during the week these studies meet, so there is a time for all of our women, regardless of schedule, to enjoy this spiritual feast. Days and times are:
Monday, 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, 6:00 a.m.
Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.
If you have any questions, contact Kathy Tamas (221-1865) or Alice Bishop (224-4325). Please take advantage of the wonderful opportunity to grow spiritually. You’ll be glad you did.
