Please review all of this information in detail with your group. 10 Minutes OPEN Having spent a month on this study of “Grace” in our Bible Classes, Sunday Night Preaching Moments, and LIFE Group Meetings, what is the one nugget that has most impacted your thinking on this important subject?
Consider this thought: “There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, that it does not behoove any of us to disparage the rest of us." What does this thought say to you about grace? 15-20 Minutes DIG Read I Peter 4:1-11. Peter calls us to the highest standard – living “for the will of God” (v. 2) What is the lifestyle God wants from His people? In reading this entire section of scripture, how does “grace” become a centerpiece of our transformed lives? Why does Peter say "You have spent enough time doing what pagans choose to do"? What are the results of living selfishly? Why stop?
Read Philippians 2:5-11. In practical terms, how can you arm yourself with the attitude of Christ Jesus? How will this attitude enable you to plant “seeds of grace” along your path?
In practical terms, there are three things we’ve been challenged to do:
• Be dedicated to God. • Be determined to live gracefully. • Dare to be different. Allow the group to discuss practical ways in which they can commit to these resolutions.
Can one act of virtue cause a "ripple effect" in society? Does the action of one person matter in the larger scheme of things? 15 Minutes REFLECT People who live for themselves are often harshly critical toward others. Why do these seem to go hand-in-hand? What is the relationship between living a morally pure life and extending grace to others? 10 Minutes PRAYER TIME More than ever, let’s go fishing. Remember the empty chair.
Think of someone in your circle of influence that is most in need of grace. How can you minister to that person during this coming week?
