LIFE GROUP DISCUSSION GUIDE Wednesday Night, May 26, 2004 “Making Christ’s Mission Our Own” 5 Minutes Welcome and Prayer With this being the last meeting of your group prior to our summer schedule, spend time in talking about some of the blessings you’ve experienced from being in your LIFE Group this past year. What are some things you think would help to improve your group meetings and draw others into your group? Is there anyone in the group that would be willing to co-lead a group this next year? 10 Minutes OPEN From your recent past, what was something that happened in your life that you were anxious to share with others? What were the emotions you felt as you were able to share this news with others? 15-20 Minutes DIG Have you come to realize that worshipping or serving out of duty is not a fulfilling or sustaining motivation for a Christian? Why is this? Have you noticed that many who live with this “sense of duty” often live with a “works mentality” as if they are earning their way? Why does love provide a greater motivation to live your life in step with the Lord? In sharing your faith with others?
When you honestly assess your enthusiasm for Christ’s mission and find that you are lacking in zeal, what can you do to regain a passion and focus for others? 15 Minutes REFLECT Were any of you led to the Lord by a Christian that persevered in seeing you through to your conversion?
What are some of the obstacles that keep you from sharing your faith with enthusiasm?
When God places a non-believer on your heart, how to do you try to establish a relationship with them? Would you be willing to share with the group a time when you established a relationship with a non-believer that eventually led to their salvation? 10 Minutes PRAYER TIME Pray with gratitude for what God has done in your group over the past year. Pray that God will use the summer to refresh everyone and to energize every individual member as the LIFE Groups will reconvene in September. Pray that God will open your eyes to drawing others into your group in the fall.
