“Satan”
5 Minutes - Welcome and Prayer
10 Minutes - OPEN
Read Ezekiel 28:12 – 19. This is speaking of the king of Tyre. In language that is parallel to the “fall” of Satan, this prophet tells of the destruction awaiting. It seems unfitting that he should use a parallel that would not be an accurate depiction of what did happen to the devil. If that is the case, what can we know of Satan’s origin from this reading?
What other passages give insight into Satan’s origin and fall?
15-20 Minutes - DIG
Read John 8:44. Comment on Jesus’ description of Satan’s character.
Satan is called our “enemy” in I Peter 5:8. Discuss the various ways he fulfills this term.
Satan appears to be “bound” in some sense today (See Revelation 20: 1 – 3). In what ways do you see him bound, and in what ways do you not see him bound?
How is the devil able to cause us to sin? How can we be in control in these areas?
15 Minutes - REFLECT
Reread Job 1 & 2; Luke 13:16; Acts 10:38; II Corinthians 12: 7 – 11; and Hebrews 2: 14. Does Satan still have this same power? If so, what can we do to protect ourselves?
What can you find in the Bible about Satan’s future?
Should we be afraid of Satan?
CLOSING PRAYER
Submit these matters to God!
Pray for specific needs that were revealed during the meeting.
