Abraham
Malherbe was born in South Africa and educated at Abilene Christian
University and Harvard University. He taught at ACU, briefly at
Dartmouth College, and has been at Yale since 1970, where he has served
as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and is the Buckingham Professor
Emeritus of New Testament Criticism and Interpretation. His area of
specialization is the Greek and Roman context of early Christianity,
about which he has written and edited ten books and scores of articles.
He is co-founder of Restoration Quarterly. For over fifty years,
he and his wife Phyllis have worked with small churches in New England.
They live in Hamden, Connecticut.
