Why Are We Comfortable with Pride?
In Randy Harris’ excellent book Soul Work: Confessions of a Part-Time Monk he references Jeremy Taylor. I didn’t know anything about him. If Bill S. Preston and Ted “Theodore” Logan were describing him, they would call him “an old, dead dude.” Taylor was English and lived from 1613-1667. (Lewis and T.W. said they knew him, but he was pretty old by the time they met him). In his book Holy Living, Taylor gives nineteen rules for living humbly.
